Philippe Sly and Chamber Players of Canada

A recent winner of the prestigious Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, Ottawa's Philippe Sly has been garnering rave reviews wherever he sings. Christophe Huss of Le Devoir wrote, "In this country there exists a vocal treasure named Philippe Sly, an exceptional baritone!" A delightful program of vocal and instrumental music from the baroque to the present.

    Ottawa's Angela Hewitt is one of the most respected pianists performing today. This concert features her playing one of the best-loved works in all of music, Schumann's sublime Piano Quintet. For this concert, we are also joined by the extraordinary violinist, Yehonatan Berick. Be sure to get your tickets early as this concert is certain to sell out!

JOIN US FOR OUR THIRD SEASON!
The Chamber Players of Canada have been performing together for ten years and have recorded nine CDs, which have been receiving rave reviews around the world. The response to the first two seasons of our concert series has been tremendous, and we are delighted to be presenting a third season of concerts in Ottawa.

The 2011-2012 concert series features some of Canada's best musicians including pianists Angela Hewitt and Andrew Tunis; violinists Jonathan Crow, Yehonatan Berick, Andrew Wan and Marie Bérard; soprano Monica Whicher; harpsichordist Thomas Annand; baritone Philippe Sly; clarinetist Kimball Sykes and many others. We are delighted that four of our concerts are being recorded by CBC Radio and Radio-Canada for broadcast across Canada.

As well as evening concerts, this series will feature Ottawa's only morning "coffee-concert" series, where you can join other music lovers for coffee and refreshments before enjoying a performance. A great way to start the day! Christmas with the Chamber Players of Canada always attracts a capacity audience and our May 18th concert featuring Angela Hewitt is certain to sell out, so be sure to order your tickets early!
